Ivory Hilted Executioners Keris dagger

  • Dated: 19th century.

Executions were performed by the village doctor, and they used this type of blade. These were made only for executions. The cut was made through the collar bone into the heart.

Swift death, but gruesome part of Indonesian history. The mendok looks fairly new. Blade is 21 inches long (53.3cm); 24.75 inches overall (62.9cm). Sheath fits the dagger perfectly except for the back part of blade.
